BIO:
“People don’t know you are as good as you are. Keep doing you, stay humble and keep working. You can go as far as you want; you have an incredible ear for music.” Stated Rick Powell, Street Promoter when speaking on the up and coming Rap/Hip Hop artist Octavious Tatum (born July 23, 1980 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX), better known by his stage name Mello.  He is the son of Sharon Tatum (mother) and Andre Washington (father) and a proud father of two loving children Omariae Mecchi Tatum (7 years) and Kaicen Tavion Tatum (7 months).
At this time Mello is currently working on his solo project, and can be found featured on the newly released “Welcome To the SwaggHouse” mixtape presented by fellow SwaggHouse Musik label mate   T-Cash.   He and his fellow label mates (Anonymous, King Kong, Money Mook, and T-Cash) will soon be touring nationwide promoting music everyone can learn from and vibe to.  His main goal within the music industry is to lay a future foundation for his loved ones and provide the world with music that motivates.
Mello was brought up in South Dallas, where unbeknownst to him he would develop and build the skills he possessed to position him in the music world writing and composing.   At the young age of 8yrs old Mello constructed his first poem which he presented to his principal at the time, which was so overwhelmed by the greatness she posted it in the school newspaper. This was only the beginning, he went on to attend the Martin Luther King Recreational Center where he developed a relationship with lots of influential personalities such as Spudd Webb and Erykah Badu. In middle school, he wrote his first rap sitting in English class as an assignment; however it was not taken serious due to his active involvement in sports.  In 1994 he became acquainted with a fellow rapper by the name of William “Winki” Wilson who introduced him to the idea of making music, including concepts, hook writing, counting bars and recording. Since then he has been determined to become a force to be reckoned with.
While remaining a humble family man and handling life’s responsibilities, Mello is in the process of producing an album guaranteed to touch souls and give a lesson in life’s trials and tribulations. Mello is a name to remember, not just a rapper, he is a leader guaranteed to leave a legacy in hip hop.
“ I have a lot of lives I want to change in little time”
